HK Disneyland's "It's a Small World" Ride Launched; Nikki Gil, Guang Liang, etc. Sang
Hong Kong Disneyland's "It's a Small World" was formally launched yesterday April 28, 2008. During the ride's opening ceremony, Malaysian singer-songwriter Michael Wong a.k.a. Guang Liang, Hong Kong singer and actress Miriam Yeung, singer and VJ Nikki Gil of the Philippines and pop idol TWO of Thailand sang the modern version of "It's a Small World."
Fan video of the performance of the four Asian stars.
Prior to the launch, the four Asian stars filmed a music video of the new remix version of "It's a Small World" sang in various Asian languages. They even experience the rides before it was opened to the public. On a side note, this is not Nikki Gil's first time to work with Disney. She has recorded songs for the Asian release of High School Musical albums a couple years ago.
The Asian scene of the said ride depicts various Asian cultures like the "Bahay Kubo" of the Philippines and is believed to be twice larger compared to the other "It's a Small World" rides in the US, France and Japan. Versions of the song sang in various Asian languages can also be heard during the ride. Watch promo video here or watch the test ride done last April 17, 2008: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (Filipino version can be heard here) and Part 4.
Twin's Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung and other celebrities sang the Chinese version of this song in 2006. Watch MV here.
