Hero is a well rounded movie presented by Quentin Tarantino. It has a very good cast of actors and actresses, starring Jet Li, along with Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Zhang Ziyi, Chen Dao Ming and Donnie Yen. It has been compared to the famed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. To quote People Magazine, "A must see! If you found Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Kill Bill amazing, You ain't seen nothing yet!" It was the Best Foreign Language Film in 2002. To find more information go to video.com/miramax. It was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award. Rated PG and is Chinese with English subtitles; running time being approximately 99 minutes in length. Jet Li plays this nameless, fearless warrior who is hell-bent on a mission of pure revenge, out to destroy the brutal, fearsome army that had seen to it to massacre his people. In His endeavor to eliminate this tyrannical army of murdering emperical thugs He must fight the empire's most lethal and ruthless assassins to reach and destroy His sworn enemy. With the most breath-taking scene such as the Palace and the fighting battles this movie will keep you watching and waiting for the climaxes. The photography in scenes like the one with Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi were spellbinding in color and effects. The choreography is absolutely superb; the fight scene full of action and intrique. The ending will surprise many. Truely this is a must see movie for anyone with good movie taste. A movie worth being in your video library. Check it out!
I believe he was just the person who was promoting the film in the states.. He didn't have anything to do with it's production though.. Still a great movie.. It was one of my favorites until House of Flying Daggers came along ^_^..
I too think the director is chinese. I loved the story and the acting. Most of all, there were so many scenes that i felt like i was looking at an art piece, a beautiful painting.
