A Visit to the Doctor...

Imagine one day on your visit to China or other Chinese communities, you or someone you know managed to feel unwell and needed to see a doctor immediately! Well, these terms will come in handy for you if you ever encounter such situation when you need to talk to a nurse or an doctor.

I'm sick- 我病了。 (Wo bing le.)

My friend/child is sick. - 我的朋友/孩子病了。 (Wode pengyou/haizi bing le.)

It hurts here. - 这里痛。 (Zheli tong.)

I'm dehydrated. - 我脱水了。 (Wo tuoshui le.)

I feel.... - 我感到。。。。了。 (Wo gandao.....le.)

• better- 好一些 (hao yixie)
• depressed- 郁闷 (yumen)
• dizzy- 头晕 (touhun)
• hot and cold- 议会儿冷， 一会儿热。 (yihuir leng, yihuir re)
• nauseous- 反胃 (fangwei)
• shivery- 全身发抖 (quanshen fadou)
• strange- 奇怪 (qiguai)
• weak- 没有力气 (meiyou liqi)
• worse- 根不好 (geng buhao)
  

I've been.... - 我。。。。。了 (Wo.......le)

He/She has been.... - 他。。。。。。了 (Ta.......le)

• injured- 受伤 (shoushang)
• vomiting- 常呕吐 (chang outu)
  

I can't sleep. - 我失眠了。 (Wo shimian le.)

I think it's the medication I'm on. - 好像跟我的处范有关系。 (Haoxiang gen wode chufangyao you guanxi.)

I'm on medication for... - 我有。。。。。的处方药。 (Wo you......de chufangyao.)

He/She is on medication for.... - 他/她有。。。。的处方药。 (Ta you.......de chufangyao.)

I have (a/an).... - 我有。。。。。 (Wo you....)

He/She has (a/an).... - 他有。。。。 (Ta you....)

I've recently had (a/an)... - 我最进有。。。。 (Wo zuijin you....)

He/She has recently had (a/an).... - 他/她最进有。。。。 (Tao zuijoin you....)

• asthma- 哮喘 (xiaochuan)
• cholera- 霍乱 (huoluan)
• common cold- 伤风 (shangfeng)
• constipation- 便秘 (bianmi)
• cough- 咳嗽 (kesou)
• diabetes- 糖尿病 (tangniaobing)
• diahorrea- 拉稀 (laxi)
• epilepsy-癫痫 (dianbi)
• fever- 发烧 (fashao)
• flu- 感冒 (ganmao)
• giardiasis- 鞭毛虫病 (bianmaochongbing)
• malaria- 疟疾 (nueji)
• nausea- 反胃 (fanwei)
• pain- 疼痛 (tengtong)
• SARS- 萨斯病 (saisi bing)
• sore throat- 喉咙痛 (houlongteng)
  

the doctor may say....

Do you.....? - 你会。。。。吗？ (Ni hui......ma?)

• drink- 喝酒 (hejiu)
• smoke- 抽烟 (chouyan)
• take drugs- 吃毒品 (chidupin)
  

Are you....? - 你有。。。吗 (Ni you.....ma?)

• allergic to anything- 过敏症 (guominzheng)
• on medication- 处方药 (chufanyao)
  

What's the problem? - 有什么问题？ (You shenme wenti?)

Where does it hurt? - 那儿疼呢？(Nar teng ne?)

Do you have a temperature? - 发烧吗？ (Fashao ma?)

How long have you been like this? - 这个情况持续了多久？ (Zheige qingkuang chixule duojiu?)

Have you had this before? - 以前有过这洋的吗？ (Yiquan youguo zheyangde ma?)

Are you sexually active? - 你有性生活吗？(Ni you xingshenghuo ma?)

Have you had unprotected sex? - 你有过非安全性交吗？ (Ni youguo faianquan xingjiao ma?)

You need to be admitted to the hospital. - 你需要住医院。 (Ni xuyao zhu yiyuan.)

You should have it check when you go home. - 回国时要做检查。 (Huiguo shi yaozuo jiancha)

You should return home for treatment. - 最好要回国养病。 (Zuihao yao huiguo yangbing)
