fishballs, squidballs, kikiam, are also pinoy street foods right? I think, coz I always see vendors in front of our school selling those.. but what about popcorn? hehehe.. and cotton candy? I see them always in the church. Is it considerd streetfoods? eh?

RE: Filipino Street Foods

Just reading the list makes me hungry and even more homesick Sad
I miss those times of just going to the street vendors after school just for these!
By the way I'm thinking you can add fishballs, squidballs and kikiam too... although I'm not sure how to describe them.
Oh! How about the unripe indian mangoes? Who remembers those..you know the sour ones you eat with bagoong.

RE: Filipino Street Foods

oh!! i know the Balut one. They also have it here at those chinese supermakets. My parents bought some a while ago and i saw it. It looks just like any regular eggs but you can see the chick inside. It's kinda gross but my dad eats it with salt and pepper and the way he ate it is so interesting.....i didn't try it but he said it's really good

RE: Filipino Street Foods

Thanks guys for your input... I've added your list guest... and I've added your maruya and banana que tinzkijc...

Initially I didn't consider putting hotdog, hotcakes, fishballs and squidballs coz they're in English, and also kikiam coz it's a Chinese dish, and this thread is located under the Languages section but since we're talking about street foods might as well include this yummy ones! lol...

... and I've added a few like: Batchoy, Bibingka, Chicharong Bulaklak
... and some street foods commonly seen in Mindanao like: Ginanggang, Pastil

I think the mangoes you're talking about are not Indian mangoes coz they're not sour compared to the other kinds. The name skips me right now, I'll get back to you... but I've added "mangga't bagoong" Smile
