Yep, those a very patriotic songs but in grade and high school nowadays, they sing "Ako ay Pilipino" (I am Filipino)

I really don't know... I thought Carinosa is the national symbol (some say it has replaced Tinikling as the national symbol) or was it because Tinikling is more FAMOUS than Carinosa, that's why it's thought to be the national dance...

Despite popular belief, Cariñosa has always been the national dance of the Philippines, whereas the Tinikling is just a worldwide favorite.

I remember that there's a lot of talk during the change... but if I remember it correctly, the change was done coz Cariñosa has a Spanish origin and the legislators or whoever lobbied for it wanted a national dance that has a more native origin, thus, the choice is Tinikling... It's been included in textbooks already and I also have a postage stamp released that shows Tinikling as the national dance, it's a set with all the national symbols... I'll scan those if I have time
