do you have strict Asian parents?

My parents were very strict but then i rebelled alot and now they are not as strict but love me less. I guess they gave up trying to tell me what to do and thus lost some love in me in the process.

Hm..I used to have strict parents. When I was younger, my parents were always on the ball, watching my every move and monitoring whatever I did. As I got older, I accquired more freedom, and I guess...as a result of aging, they lost their strictness and control. I still have to be very reliable and obedient though..

yea i guess so. arent almost all asian parents pretty strict. they want me to do good in school but they also say try your hardest.

eek. i imagine future parents are gonna be less strict and might not even care about their children. I hate how some people say that they would never be strict towards their kids but it will happen no matter what.

asian parents seem to be never satisfied with their children's grades. even if u do good, they always want u to work harder and do better.

I agree, noting satisfies them. An A+ doesn't get any better then an A+ does it? Lol, i think asian parents have a problem with giving their kids compliments and actually telling them they are doing good. Is this true or is it just me?

yea, when I get say a 93 on a test they will be like "what is this? Where's my 100?" then If I manage to get a 100 or 98 on a test they are liek "Good job" -_-...it's so blunt

In my folks' eyes,below 98 is weak and I always ended-up getting a bitchslap on the face if I ever get a low grade with the score 70 and below.....there was once I hurled getting it,that was much moons ago...

What my dad always says is. "You didn't come out of the crack of the earth" <--- Its funnier in my language. Whenever he says this i almost always have a smile on my face which pisses him off even more. Then there is the "Who is your dad?" question, which annyos me the most cause he knows he is my dad but why does he want me to acknowledge it all the time.

His lectures are 2 hours long and about what? The same old thing every single time word for word. Then there's the bringing up everything i ever did wrong in the pass. Now that just pisses me off so much. Like, dad i already know its my fault now can you quit rubbing it all in my face! Like carmen said "Parents are a weird species, not to be joked around with" I'm scared casue one day i'm gonna be one too. *sigh*
