No. Growing up, as the oldest of many kids, my parents were always busy so basically I had a carefree childhood with a lot of freedom since 1st grade. I never had to let anyone know where I was or what time I needed to get home. Its a miracle I turned out the way I am (I don't smoke, drink, take drugs or do anything bad) when I was surrounded by gangs and triads. You guys may find it weird, but I had wanted some strictness or rules to follow, some sort of restriction. Looking back, I guess I had a great childhood cause I know that they trusted me to know better and make my own choices to learn from it.

The weird thing about this whole situation, is that the girl didn't want to get her parents in trouble. As people were willing to call the cops on her parents, and get her out of there, but she refused and begged them not to, and said that even if they called the police, she would lie to them, to protect her parents. Now, I know that family comes first, but thats taking it WAY to far. She's taking so much abuse from her family, and still trying to protect them.

well my family isn't that strict, I guess "over-protective". Actually i know a friend who got smacked by a wooden ruler on the face because he wasn't payin attention to his dad...

My parents used to be overly strict. So strict, it'd be like, I wouldn't want a friend over because I'm not sure if my parents would like it.

These past 3 years they have gotten tons better. They allow me and my siblings to do more, like invite friends over, go out later at night and such. I don't know what caused them to suddenly change though.

Overall my parents are still stricter then like white peoples parents, but I think its for the better for me

My motha is strict. fatha most of the time is not home.

My parents used to be stricted when we were teenagers but of course your teenage years are the worst...you tend to get into things around that age so i guess i don't blame my parents for being so strict on us but now, they are the coolest..they are so understandable...now we all can just sit back and drink up together...i guess asian parents are they way they are because they love their children and only wants the best for them.

I think overtime, my parents have gotten less strict...I can go to the mall!
