Everyone will have their own opinions on this depending on their own personality type. Personally I think shy guys are kinda cute but not painfully shy ones ^_^

No...girls don't like guys that is too passive... At least you need to be proactive to show that you're interested in her... By saying that, I do not mean an over reacted proactive action that may as well scared the girl off... just be able to talk out what you feel with taking consideration of the girl's feeling.... When I was in middle school and high school, I always liked the shy, sweet types that were usually quiet. Those loud, obnoxious bad boys were always annoying. Always thought they were playboys and stuff.
