yes i think the manga is much better too

dn 1 and 2 is awesome!

Overall it was quite good, but i didn't like the actor that portrayed light and the CG for Ryuk.

i agree that the light character in the movie was not good enough ..The anime is better ..But in the movie ,L is much more blank (that gives people blur emotion) than in the anime

i watch this movie with my friend....
our think that this is a must watch movie...

i agree that death note movie is awesome, but the anime more awesome...
ken'ichi as L was good enough, but tatsuya as Light...not pretty good, cos i can't feel the real Light...

I just saw it on youtube last night. I loved it! Not having read the mango or seen the anime, I had nothing to compare it to. Some of the comments were that L was like the manga/anime but not Light and vice versa and that the movie didn't follow the manga/anime. But one comment I liked was that you can only do so much in a 1 hour movie. I truely enjoyed it. I thought Light was so cold as to involve his girlfriend in order to prove his innocence. This movie really shows how absolute power corrupst absolutely. He went from killing only bad guys to killing good guys who disagreed with his "new world". I can't wait to see DN2.
