The two Davids of American Idol Season 7, David Cook and David Archuleta, will be having a back-to-back concert this coming May 16, 2009 at the SM Mall Of Asia Concert Grounds, Metro Manila at eight in the evening produced by Fearless Productions.
This is the first time that they will perform in a concert together, or rather, a back-to-back one. Their contracts state that each of them will be performing for 60 minutes with a 20-minute break. David Archuleta will be performing first followed by David Cook. So no duet in the offing but reports said that David Cook might be performing a song he composed entitled "Permanent" dedicated to his brother Adam who died of brain cancer a few days ago.
They will be arriving on May 12 on a separate flight. Archuleta will be arriving from London while Cook will be arriving from US, and each of them brought their own bands and technicians.
There are talks of the concert not pushing through, specifically for David Cook's case due to his brother's death but an official statement from David Cook's tour manager has been released: "David and his family would like to say thank you for everyone's thoughts and prayers. Please don't worry, as the show will go on as scheduled. David is looking forward to seeing all his fans in Manila."
