Filipino TV host Karen Davila interviewed Filipino international singer Charice earlier today (June 26, 2009 Philippine time) and the teen singer said that she was shocked and saddened to learn about Michael Jackson's death upon waking up.
She revealed that she was supposed to have a dance showdown with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson on his upcoming series of concerts/world tour which will start this July, thus, while busy preparing for her first solo concert, she is also rehearsing her Jackson dance moves.
The supposed song and dance showdown was put under wraps and is supposedly a surprise to fans, but with the death of the King of Pop, Charice's showdown with the pop icon will remain a dream.
She never met the pop icon, but Charice stated that just to be asked to be part of Jackson's concert is an honor itself and believes the pop icon is truly a kind person for considering a newbie like her to perform with him, a legend.
Charice candidly stated that she was approached by Michael Jackson's lawyer during a private party of Warner Bros. and talked about Jackson wanting her to be his special guest on his world tour. She further revealed that the late pop icon first saw her in The Oprah Winfrey Show but when he saw a video of her dancing to the tune of Billie Jean, the pop icon said: "I want this kid."
Here's the video that supposedly captured Michael Jackson's attention:
Charice is very thankful for Jackson's interest and she will sing a song in memory of the pop icon on her first solo concert entitled "Charice: The Journey Begins" to be held at at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City at eight tomorrow (June 27, 2009) evening.
On an
earlier interview, Charice stated that she will be returning to the US a couple of days after the concert to continue recording... and with this latest revelation, maybe planned to rehearse for the late Jackson's concert.
The partial interview was revealed on TV Patrol World aired earlier this evening (June 26) but the full interview will be shown on Wonder Mom tomorrow morning.

On another note, Filipinos also are in mourning for the King of Pop's death. He had his concert in the Philippines back in 1996 and was totally loved by fans. Jackson even visited a Paranaque hospital to check on the newly-born babies. The babies will now be in their teens.
