[Updated] Charice Pempengco To Perform at Obama's Pre-Inauguration Party
News Update
Charice talked about her experience singing in one of the inauguration balls. For the video and transcript, please go to post #8.
Filipino international singer Charice Pempengco will be singing at the pre-inauguration party of US President-elect Barack Obama on Sunday (January 18) in Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel, Washington D.C. Charice herself confirmed this on an interview with ABS-CBN, a Philippine broadcasting network.
She stated: "Sa January 18 po 'yon 'yong pre-inauguration party doon po ako magpe-perform. Hindi lang po ako sure kung makakasama po talaga ako sa inauguration (on January 20)." (Translation: The pre-inauguration party will be on January 18. But I am not sure if I'll be included for the inauguration on January 20).
Charice further stated that she will be performing two songs chosen by Obama's staff which are "God Bless America" and "One Moment in Time" on the said event.
Charice expressed her excitement in performing for US President-elect Obama when she only performs for Philippine President Gloria Arroyo before. When faced with Obama, she said she will say: "Just wanna say thank you for making this dream come true. This is not only an honor for me, not only for me, but also for the Philippines. Thank you."

There are lots of pre-inauguration balls scheduled, more than 10 I think and in different venues too, so maybe the one s/he watched isn't the ball Charice was signed up to... Reports say it's in Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel. Is it the one s/he watched?
RE: Charice Pempengco To Perform at Obama's Pre-Inauguration Party
There is different pre-inauguration balls and celebrations on the countdown of Obama's official Inauguration Day.
So far, they've broadcast the HBO celebration with numerous celebrities and singer gathered at Capital Hill, Washington D.C. where singers performed and celebrities gave speeches.
I must say, while I was watching, they performed a song that my elementary day school makes us sing during 'Fourth of July'...the patriotic song "This Land Is My Land"...lol
It brings back so much memories that I had to sing along with them...rofl xD
