Fans and supporters of young sensational singer Charice Pempengco were dismayed with the sudden cancellation of her much-awaited concert in Dubai.

Overseas Filipino workers said they were disappointed when organizers cancelled the concert while they were already in line.

The concert was reportedly called off when organizers encountered problems with the budget and sponsors.

Filipino concert-goers said most of them took a day off or did not report for work just to see the world-class singer perform.

A Filipino restaurant worker said "pinakahihintay namin ito, nag day off pa kami sa restaurant namin para lang makapunta dito."

An Indonesian fan came all the way from Bahrain while another Filipino supporter traveled all the way from Abu Dhabi just to watch Charice.

"I love you Charice. You are amazing so I come all the way from Bahrain just to see you," said the Indonesian national.

"Gustong-gusto ko talaga si Charice dahil napakagaling talagang kumanta ng batang yan," said Ding Landrito from Abu Dhabi.

Charice meanwhile felt sad with what happened.

"Nagulat nga po ako nang malaman ko na hindi nga po tuloy. Syempre nanghinayang lang ako hindi dahil sa performance ko, kundi dahil sa mga Pilipino na super dami, na manonood," said Charice

The fans’ disappointment was eased a little when they personally saw Charice and had their pictures taken with her.
