sometime it may feel weird but just think of yur ex as a good friend that u know fo a while. im friends with my ex eventhough she hates my guts.

If you had a breakup where he cheated on you or she dumped you because of a stupid reason and it ended with some broken windows, then I don't think you guys can be friends again. But if both of you didn't have that vibe for eachother, and you guys just wanted to lower your relationship, you should have no trouble being friends.

I actually had a long term relationship (2 years+) with a girl that I was friends with for about 2 years before we dated. Our break up was pretty... ugly. No, it was really ugly. But, with some time apart, we started to talk again. Nothing will be the same, however.. we'll never have that level of friendship we had before we dated..

If you only casually date then break up.. you can definitely be friends again, but after a really involved and deep relationship, something had to happen to break that... and that usually means it won't be the same ever again.

No way! i have never realli met the case of anyone being friends with their ex. Sure that what everyone says " we still friends" but really one of the other is still hurt, that why they tend to avoid each other. They can really only ever be friends if they have truely moved on!

it all really depends. time does heal wounds but if your ex is some psycho.. its a different story. and if your ex was like really madly in love with you then no. or if you dumped your ex and went out with your ex's bestfriend. or close buddy or watsoever.. then no. it really depends on the situation. either than that.. and you're cool with your ex. so be it. be the bestest of friends

you can be friends with your ex as long as you ended up nicely.unlike for me,with had sex before i broke up with her.but we still keep in touch.so...you can't be friends with your ex.(?)

I guess it also depends... if you parted ways amicably then maybe you can be casual friends. But personally I find it hard to maintain a friendship with an ex whether or not it was a nasty break-up or something... I mean it's just awkward.
