Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
I think if a girl and guy were to be best friends, they'd either have to be really young or just know each other from a really young age, otherwise, I think one of them would end up falling for eachother, I know its happened to me before and most of my friends end up falling for girls that are our friends.

RE: Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
I agree with that but I remember this time me and my closest friend (a girl) became way too good of friends that when one person did something without telling the other, it led to us not being friends anymore.

I kind of regret telling my friend I don't want any part of her life anymore but I had my definition of a best friend violated.

Oh when I meant close friend I meant, dated, hugged, talked deeply with, shared bed, e.t.c.

Well the point is, a guy and a girl can be best friends, just don't take the relationship too seriously. (don't go overboard), take it from me, I did that and I lost the best female friend I can ever have in a lifetime.

after you've dated, you're no longer friends, so I don't think this would count because you guys did eventually fall for eachother. I think this is an example of how two people of opposite gender will have to try hard not to fall for one another if they did become good friends.

RE: Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
I think its rare that a girl and guy can be best friends and not have a one sided relationship. I think its nearly impossible, some girls I've been friends with that I had no interest in, I later found out they had liked me, although we're still friends, I think its hard to have this kind of relationship without one falling for the other at some point.

Whoops, when i said "date" i meant went out for lunch, dinner, and ate together.

I never had a relationship beyond best friend with her.

RE: Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
Haha I'm sure she did.

One of her friend walked up to me one day and said "she's very sorry about what she did" and I asked "does she even know what she's sorry for?"

The answer:

"I don't know...she was drunk when she told me"

RE: Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
I don't think it's possible either...
My "brother" and I are really close, but he told me he had feelings for me (although I was shocked, I wasn't blown away though because he's still like a brother to me, it doesn't phase me).
Well, now, he doesn't he says.
Girls and guys can be good friends when they're younger, but as they get older, they fall for the other person because they're beautiful in their eyes/they're comfortable with them.
So...*shrug* just as long as you don't let it ruin a good friendship
He didn't and I didn't either. We're still very, very close =]

RE: Can a guy and a girl be "best friends"
Yeah totally. I have a best friend who's a girl right now. And although we never talk about like us going out or anything, we don't worry about it. I know she doesn't worry 'cause she has a boyfriend lol. And I'm not her type at all. And I like somebody else.... heh but that's another story.

Anyways, we're still best friends, even after I moved. ^_^

Actually I was supposed to see her today but some plans got screwed over.. :-/

Allow me to try my best to be the nicest I can be! ^_^
