Rebecca Strachan, a 20 year old British girl has become an overnight pop sensation in Korea. She and a friend Sharon Schilperoord (18) of Holland, made videos of themselves singing various Korean Songs. They posted these videos on youtube and became instant celebrities, generating 200,000 visits in a short period of time. Rebecca says that she loves korean music and that it was her dream to become a pop star in Korea. Rebecca began studying Japanese at Queen's Mary's College and eventually taught herself Korean. She started having an interest in Korean Music and found Sharon on a kpop online forum. They started sending recorded vocals to each other and then decided to post up videos. From there they became instant sensations. Social networking site Gypsii & record label J-Tune are paying for her trip to Seoul. Gypsii & J-Tune are saying that they want to make Rebecca a star in Korea. There are also some rumors that she might sign a record deal with J-Tune. Sharon was also offered an all expense paid trip to Korea but she declined and said she wanted to finish college first.
