Yes the castles are pretty cool, I can't say I've visited many of them though If you are going to Japan you should probably go to Shibuya for the shopping. Tokyo obviously because that is the biggest center, it's basically like Los Angeles + New York combined (haha). Just a reminder for foreigners, Japan has a thing called the JR pass which you can buy to take the train unlimited times. The first time I visited Japan I used this, but once I moved there I didn't really feel like visiting too many places anymore... haha.
