RE: Best Computer Brand
hp is not a good brand to buy, they bought out compaq and ever since then there product is not that good. they are the highest returns in fry's electronics. sony is number in laptop, tosihiba and fujitsu. but for desktop, it is better that you custom build it, so you would now how to fix later on and how to add hardware yourself. but if you don't want to do that, dell is good and gateway was, but i don't know now. well better said what kind of hardware do you want and what are you planning on doing with it as well. because if you are going into graphics, its better that you get a mac instead but for gaming a pc is better. but pc's are now catching up to mac's so its up to you what you really want to do with it and how you want to spend.

LOL, everything you pretty much said is true to me. It is a whole lot better to custom build a desktop computer. Also, Dell is the most reliable to me and very cheap too.

i dont really think dell is cheap thought the computer might be good...i got 2 compaq computers which had mostly the same function as dell but was more economic...

RE: Best Computer Brand
if you buy a premanufactured computer the answer would be dell for best system for the money. no other company can offer what they offer and at their price with their exceptional warranty/customer service. especially the way they help out when wanting to upgrade later down the road to a newer system. hp is not reliable anymore and same goes for compaq. sony's make a great system with the looks to go with it but its up to you if you want to spend the money. asus and acer are comparable in price and ability but still overpriced in my mind. custom built desktops are the way to go if you are comfortable in doing such a task. good luck.
