i've just been curious about this for some time.

it's interesting that you bring this up... i think that a part of the reason why asians seem to prefer dating other asians is because of commonality in background. no matter what, asians are going to be closer to other asians in the way we view life. our world-view is similar. i find this to be true also of latin cultures as well. while attraction is a totally different matter, and it might be the biggest matter for you, in general, there's less of a cultural gap between asians. so there's a natural 'closeness' i guess you can say.

i see that a lot of people said white as the other race that you see yourselves dating... is that b/c that's the majority of people that are around us? that's what media tells us is beautiful? that's what society tells us is beautiful? even in asian cultures, being more 'fair-skinned' (aka white) is considered more high-class, or beautiful. why is that?

i'm not saying asian is better or worse, but i'm saying that sometimes, it's not just our preferences, but what we've been fed to think, even without us knowing it. we just need to be aware of that.

You hit it right on the bullseye.People overall actions and or characteristics are usually instilled within them by either family(especially at an early age.This is were racism comes from since no child is born with hate),friends(peer pressure and the desire to fit in),or simply the media(monkey see monkey do).True they need to be very aware of this but at the moment their oblivious
