RE: are books really better than the movies?
personally i would have to agree with the saying that books are better than the movies :] the movies tend to cut out alot of the details due to the time that is given while the book really goes into detail on imagery and such :] it really nice to evolve around a more detailed imagination kind of thing ya know :] such as harry potter for example and the lord of the rings --those were really good books :], also the movie for umm that book by lemony snicket lol..series of unfortunate events! that movie was pretty lame compared to the book and i bet fans would agree on that..or even just the viewers :] books are better for me ^^

RE: are books really better than the movies?
yea...books are better because it's more for the imagination and it goes into the thoughts of the characters. but for some movies, just the way that the actors portray the characters are just so moving =]

I think books are better than movies Big Grin They explain more because you can imagine your own characters and stuff like that. In a movie, it's hard to cram in everything in the book in a 1 and a half hour movie.

books are usually written first before the movie. the books have the original story. the movies always end up being different or has a different twist to it. thats what i think.

I think that by reading you can use your imagination...and movie characters can be very disapointing some times!
but lots of movies are better than the original book.
like for example, Bridget Jones Diary, the movie has more action and fun.
but the Da Vinci Code movie is very bad, and the book is (a little) better!

RE: are books really better than the movies?
I prefer books also. You get a lot of details with the book but I guess I'm a bit biased since I'm a bookworm. Hehe!

I always seem to get disappointed watching the movie versions since there are a lot of scenes cut out so they could squeeze as much as they can of the book into a two hour movie.

Live, love, laugh and learn!
