Edison Chen who has been into sex scandal was no longer part of Dark Night (Batman movie). He is replaced by another actor: hin chan (plays LAU).

On the other hand, his advertisement for Manhattan Titanium, a credit card company was launched last month also pulled their contract with Mr Chen.

Sing Tao daily estimated that the scandal could cost Edison Chen HK$10m a year in work and endorsements. Edison earned over HK$2m last year including his voicework in Shrek 3 for the cantonese version.

Sponsors of Edison include Pepsi, Levi's, Jacobs & Co, Samsung and EPS. Sing Tao Daily estimated that the star could demand HK$1m for each endorsement.

A Pepsi spokesperson said that the company would not drop Edison but are constantly monitoring the situation. An EPS spokesperson said the same.

Edison's company Clot Inc also does a lot of collaborative work with companies like Nike and Coach.

I don't think the makers of Dark Night will pull him off the movie just because of the sex scandal. Hollywood has seen many scandals and one more doesn't make any difference. I think the change of actors may have something to do with the auditions and who the makers believed will make more impact to the movie...

Sometimes bad publicity is good publicity... we never know what will happen when this scandal has passed it's nine-day wonder (well, it's passed that number of days already but the scandal is still everywhere!!!)
