Ok I don't know if this is the right place to put it but since tuts are helpful I thought this would be the right section..

At the request of mangoking I will do some tutorials on basic Photoshop techniques.. First up

EXTRACTING:::

Extracting an image from its background is actually easier then most people think. The only problem is when you have a pic where the person is the same color or wearing the same color as its background it becomes very difficult to extract only what you want unless you are really good with Photoshop. That is why I will be using a pic that does not clash with its background.

For this I will use a pic of my fiancé Namie Amuro.. Yes that’s right my Fiancé..

Once you’ve opened your pic look at the top menu bar and select Filter>Extract then a screen should pop up with your pic. Once in the screen you can start extracting.. To do this just follow the outline of your subject with the pen tool so it should look something like this.

Use Smart Highlighting if you want to cheat your way through.

After that hit the fill tool [Image: fillerex.jpg] and fill in your subject then when ready hit the preview button and if you like what you see press ok and you should get this

Use the rope tool to get rid of any excess unwanted spots that didn’t get deleted.

Well that is the basics with extracting. Anymore assistance just leave me a comment in here and I will answer ya. Next tutorial will be about giving your subject a beautiful glow to their skin like my sig.
