The list of nominees for the 37th International Emmy Awards were revealed last October 5, 2009 by The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at a Press Conference at Mipcom.

There are 41 nominees in 10 categories. Out of 41 nominees, 11 are from Asia with 2 for the Telenovela category alone, and the remaining categories having one Asian entry each. The Philippines leads the Asian countries with three nominations; Japan and China both with two nominations and one nomination each for South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Qatar.

The winners will be announced at a Black-Tie Ceremony on November 23, 2009 at the Hilton New York Hotel.

wow. its great to see many nominations some asians have gotten. i hope they take home a award!
oh I forgot to update the news with the winners...

Only 1 out of the 11 nominations from Asia won. It's Japan's Hoshi Shinichi's Short Shorts for the Comedy category... Congratulations to the win and of course to the others. Being nominated is already one huge honor!
