Filipino-American international performer Allan Pineda Lindo, popularly known as Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, launched his own record label, Jeepney Music last Monday (August 11) in West Hollywood's Ecco Ultra Lounge.
Spotted on the launch are fellow Black Eyed Peas members Will.i.am, Taboo, and Fergie. Also in attendance were America's Best Dance Crew Season 3 winners Quest Crew's Steve Terada, Victor Kim, Hok, Andy Luo, Ryan Feng and Ryan Conferido; DJ Mia, former PCD Carmit Bashar, hip hop artist Kid Cudi, actor Lou Diamond Phillips, founder of VuQo Rich Cabael, RnB Singer Ryan Espe, Singer Asia Cruise, DJ Rocky Rock among others.
Currently, the music label features artists from around the world including artists from Korea, South Africa, India, and of course, the Philippines.
The music label's first project might be the release of apl.de.ap's first solo album, which features You Can Dream, his debut single featuring the voice of another Fil-Am international singer Billy Crawford. The album is said to be released sometime this August. And in an earlier interview with Asian Journal, he disclosed a collaboration with Filipino-American hip hop music producer Chad Hugo of The Neptunes to incorporate traditional Filipino instruments into his music.
