Coffee Prince will be made into a movie, a producer confirmed. The producer further said that "the movie will show a different story from the drama." This movie will be the third version of the Coffee Prince story. The first version is the novel written by Lee Sun Mi, and the second version is the 2007 MBC hit drama starring Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo.

The casting will begin after the script is completed in May. There is no assurance that Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo will still be Go Eun Chan and Choi Han Gyul, respectively, seeing that Yoon Eun Hye is scheduled to do a drama entitled Lady Castle and Gong Yoo is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service but who knows what will happen in a few months time. But reports said that the producers are open to the possibility of a returning old cast or a totally different new cast.

The filming is reported to start in October and be released sometime in February 2010 with simultaneous premieres in South Korea, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.

I only want to see YEH and Gong Yoo as GEC and CHG. If not available, I prefer a completely different cast.

If it's a totally different storyline then I'm all for the new cast but if it's a continuation of the drama then I want the old cast to be back except for Lee Eun, of course! aww RIP Lee Eun! It's almost a year since his death right?

wooooooooooo that's pretty cool and chea that is 3 different version right there!!! lol. a novel! a serie!!! and now a movie!!! lol. that's pretty coool. i haven't even thought of that! lol. pretty cool cool. but chea like you 4jpz if the movie turns out to be the continuation of the serie...then i would prefer they have YEH and Gong Yoo as the main characters and basically the whole coffee prince serie cast! but awwww yeah no Lee Eun though.... =/..... but if it turns to be like maybe a differnt story/version then with a new cast i wouldn't mind lol. but wow pretty coool! thanks for the news 4jpz!

nice project, i'll be looking forward to see this movie. and also, i do hope that it should be the same casting.

yeah i really enjoyed coffee prince too with the original casting i really do hope, like everyone else, that the casting is the same. Yoon eun hye plays the role perfectly. (dont know whether she should take this as a complement or not lol)
