This awesome drama will fill your eyes with tears and and your house with laughters because it is enjoyable from beginning to end..
Although, both Yang Soon and Gi Tae experience loss in death and worldly possessions, sprinkled throughout this series are scenes that demonstrate their strong personalities and perserverance. And Jang Nara's and Jang Hyuk's lively performances creates a steadiness between the somber scenes.
In this drama, Jang Nara has the role of a cute and innocent country girl who often daydreams of rescuing her prince from harm with her martial arts, and living happily with him ever after. One day, she meets Jang Hyuk who accidentally falls into her bath tub while she was taking her bath. Not off to a good start they started arguing over the matter. However, the story goes on to tell how Jang Nara arrives in the big city due to her plan (such as working to repay the debts) to settle her irresponsible parents' debts because her parents had left the creditors to hound her down. Yang-soon's first contact with city life doesn't begin well. She's bullied at school, and doesn't connect with Na-hee (Han Eun-jung), Gi-tae's girlfriend. Thankfully, she also makes new friends. Seok-gu (Yoon Tae-young) seems attracted to her, and his sister Bo-bae (Chu Ja-hyun) actually becomes her best friend. She later moves into Jang Hyuk's house as a hired servant hence begins to teach the rich spoiled brat some manners through her down to earth scoldings and no-nonsense attitude.
Jang Hyuk plays a rich and proud man, who is the president of a successful makeup company (Snowy Cosmetics)because he inherited his father's business. He's the classic silver spoon case: spoiled, arrogant, taking everything for granted. His world changes when he accidentally falls in Yang-soon's bathtub. It won't be their first and last meeting since she's forced to move to Seoul to work as a maid, without a clue to who will be her new boss. Yang Soon learns she has to be Gi Tae's maid. Gi Tae loves teasing and giving Yang Soon a hard time. Eventually he develops feeling for Yang Soon but he denies any affection to her. On the other hand, Yang Soon is not so interested in him because she thinks he is a big jerk.
However, he is later betrayed/backstabbed by his own cousin and uncle leading to his career downfall. Gi Tae eventually becomes broke and is forced to live as a peasant. While, Jang Nara plays an active girl that he meets who help him pick up the pieces in his life to brighten up his future, from defeat to success. Surprisingly, leading Gi-tae to slowly warm up to her. Gradually, his character changes from an arrogant, unfocussed jerk to a more humbled, solidified business man that sets his heart to take back what he lost. While, trying to make comeback, Gi Tae learns the essence of living a life as a common man. He learns to appreciate what he's taken for granted and just how special Yang Soon really is in his life. Will Yang Soon repay her parents’ debts and save her Prince Charming? Will Gi Tae regain losses? What success awaits these characters in both love and war?
