Quote:If you are fluent or pretty good in speaking Japanese, tell us in here how you became fluent. How long you learned the language, if your parents knew it, if you are japanese, etc.
Ahauhau... I'm fluent too because I lived there for 9 years old!! ^^
I worked in Japan the first time 20 years ago for on eyear, and I just returned from a further 3 year stint. I also have a Japanese wife! I guess that helps.
I am dluent in Japanese. I lived there from age 4 to 18 and went to elementry school for 6 years. I was my parents translator for most of the time. it's been about 2 years sence I've been back there but I still count in japanese in my head some times. lol. I'm actually trying to find a job that will let me use it but I'm also haveing a problem trying to get a digree for whatever I can get hired in. trying to find a school that will advance me more in my japanese is hard. I can read it and right it and apeak it. I would need to learn more kanji though. that is no problem. I left Niigata-ken in 2005. I miss it.
