Hello There, Guest! (Login — Register)
College is a peice of cake if you learn to manage and look at things more realistically.
Why take 4-5 classes when you can get by with 3? Yeah, colleges recommend that you take 4 classes minimum (Some 5 or more) but why bother when you can make it up in summer?
College is really all about YOU, and what you make out of it. Going to college requires your time to:
1. Show up for class
2. Study
3. Finish assignments
4. FREE TIME
Within a week and the amount of classes, you have SO MUCH free time.
Do not be intimidated by college. If anything, it is a lot easier than high school.
Anyways, it really depends on the person. I mean, if you really want to go to college, you would straighten out your priorities and put academics first.
Oh, and finals are easy if you learn to study throughout the quarter/semester instead of last minute. You can miss out on the parties over the weekend sometimes, and instead, take time to review! ;]
yes i am a college student.. and a grdauating one this coming march... at last!! but going to college isn't that easy like high school... u have to struggle and face much more challenges...
COllege isn't so bad once you find out what it is you really want to do. You just have to get past the weed out classes (core classes) and get to the upper level classes that fascinate and challenge you intellectually without boring you. If your major bores you, then find out what it is you want to do while you still can.
im in college rite now..and classes jux started last week for spring semester...it only the 3 or 4 day of class but i already got an exam, a paper, and a quiz coming up...im takin 5 classes rite now 3 on M W F and 2 on Tues & Th...college gets easier once u get use to it..but its hard wk
The real world is definitely not a good place for you to procrastinate. Sometimes it just has to do with motivation. I have the same problem too. As for everyone who is thinking about what they want to do in their lives, you should start thinking hard now. Better to be goal oriented sooner than later, it will pay off for you when you are job hunting and it will definitely help you stay focused in school. Its really stressful if you are stuck in a major you do not like or have no idea what you want to do or what you want to get out of life. As for me, I think I've finally narrowed my career choice down to strategic/business consulting or market research consultation.
If you are applying to a business school, then here is a link to help you find what you may or may not like to do. It also helps to take the "myers briggs test" to find out what kinds of jobs are suitable for you:
this will be my 4th yr in college. i'm still a procrastinator. it is such a bad habit of mine that i just can't seem to shake off. i've tried the schedules/times table thing too, but after a couple of weeks i stray away from it.
i agree, term papers suck. i always wait till the last minute to write those and it kills me. terms papers always keep me up 24 hrs. there's always a certain number of pages you need to write and using a specific font and size. if i write about something that i am interested in and know a lot about, then i wouldn't have a problem brainstorming and writing. but most papers are boring to write.
