Can any one please tell the members how to open .rar format media file in a media player and the name of the software currently available for download from renowned site at free of cost? Can it be used both for windows media and other players like Real?

.rar files are the same as .zip files. They are not video files, they are archive files. You must use a program like Winrar to "unextract" them.

Winrar only has a free trial thingy. You need to buy it I think.

I use a freeware called "7-Zip File Manager" try finding that, it's a really good program and it extracts .rar

winrar isn't free? I have mine as a full version but I got someone to hack it for me to make it a free full version lol. .rar files are a folder where you have to extract in order to get the file inside.

there are lots of free and cracked versions available. just use whatever program you're using to download and search for winrar. you're pretty sure to come up with a cracked version.

i use trail version of winrar and it still working at this day. :XD

I used Winrar but after a while it began to screw up and freeze my computer and close by itself, so I switched to something called ExtractNow, which is free and very simple to use.
