ABOUT INITIAL D:
It's a story about the fastest street racer of Mt Akina. Takumi, a delivery boy; Ryousuke, an engineer of speed; and Kyouichi, a professional racer: the three of them become duelists of drifts. For five years, 18-year-old Takumi has been delivering tofu in his father's obsolescent Toyota AE86 every morning. Not only has he become a good racer, but he has also unwittingly perfected the art of drifting. He was never an aficionado of hill racing until he is asked by his father to drive his AE86 in a David and Goliath race against Night Kids' EVO IV. A glorious but unexpected victory awakens the competitive genes in his blood, while his overnight fame inevitably leads to hellraising races one after another, each one more perilous and exciting than the previous one. THE ART OF DRIFTING
The D of the title (Initial D) stands for drifting, a racing technique of braking the rear tires loose in a controlled manner right before an uncontrolled skid. Drifting is the fastest way through a corner. A car is considered to be drifting when all of its wheels are slipping, but the front wheels are still pointed in the direction of the corner, or at least straight.

HISTORY OF INITIAL D
Initial D started off as a manga which is currently up to volume 30 and still going strong, it was turned into an anime in 1999 which was a huge success thus spawning a Second Stage series a Third Stage movie, a 2 part OVA spinoff, a special battle compilation, a Fourth Stage series, countless videogames, a card game and now a live action movie adaptation.

I loved this movie but that's because I love cars. I actually liked the drifting scences in the mountain but then again, the acting was mediocre at best. The storyline was a bit messed up since it was supposed to have ryousuke's brother takashi in it and not nakazato......the cars were nice to see atleast.

lol i saw this movie just for my sister likes edison chen the movie was great but nothing special..

i watched it, the drifting skills were cool

i actually borrow this movie from my cousin i got it for like half a year and i never did watch it once, since im not a jay chou's or edison chen's fan, but after watching curse of the golden flower i pretty much regret it. :'(

I loved Initial D, so much better than the F&F franchise. and the dear Anthony Wong was wonderful as Jay Chou´s crazy dad!

this film is funny 'coze of his father and his friend .I don't like jay's acting maybe 'coze his first film and 'coze he speaks cantonese too but the scenes of him drifting are pretty good .I like this film 'coze there is edison but that's not so bad at all.

This movie was pretty good, but I prefer the manga and anime to this, maybe I'm just a purist lol
