Biography

Wonder Girls is a five-member girl group produced by Park Jin Young and is currently signed to JYP's label JYP Entertainment (the same agency that used to manage Rain). At their debut, the girls were all teenagers set to become the next big K-pop group. The original five members were So Hee, Ye Eun, Sun Mi, Sun Ye, and Hyun Ah. Their debut was on February 11, 2007.

On July 30th, 2007, rapper Hyun Ah left the group because of a stomach disease. She was replaced by Yoo Bin, the current rapper for Wonder Girls. Also in January 22, 2010, Sun Mi decided to leave the Wonder Girls in order to pursue academics. Due to this, she was replaced by a JYP trainee named Lim Hye Rim.

Although the Wonder Girls were met with decently good reception at their debut, it wasn't until their single Tell Me was released that they reached superstardom. With their cute dance moves in the Tell Me music video, Korea was hit by Wonder Girls mania. Their single shot to #1 on the K-pop charts.

In 2008, the Wonder Girls released their single, So Hot, which instantly became one of the most popular songs in Korea, charting on various music charts. It was also the second consecutive single to reach #1 on the Korean charts (the first being Tell Me).

In 2009, Wonder Girls' activities expanded into the United States. They also opened for the Jonas Brothers on the Jonas Brothers World Tour in the North American cities that the Jonas Brothers held concerts in. In 2009 they also released an English version of their hit single, "Nobody." In October 2009, the single charted on the Billboard 100.

In 2010, member Sun Mi was replaced by Lim Hye Rim, another trainee in JYP. Sun Mi decided to postpone her music career in favor of an academic career. Currently the girls are preparing for their debut English album, but the album's release has been postponed due to the departure of member Sun Mi.

In 2010 Wonder Girls also revealed their newest single, "2 Different Tears." The track was recorded in English, Chinese, and Korean. They also revealed a funny parody music video featuring Bobby Lee, a Korean American comedian.
