Biography

Brown Eyed Girls (originally called "Crescendo") is a South Korean girl band managed and created by Nega-Network. All of the members of the Brown Eyed Girls were trained by Han Won-jong, the vocal coach of big K-pop stars like SG Wannabe, Jang Nara, and Ok Joo-hyun (FinKL). Brown Eyed Girls first debuted in 2006 with four members, Jea (Kim Hyo-Jin), Ga-in (Son Ga-in), Narsha (Park Hyo-Jin) and Miryo (Cho Mihyea). They had a fifth member named Yo Ah Ri who left the group prior to their debut. Unlike most K-pop groups who debut their singers quite early, each member of the Brown Eyed Girls is over the age of 21. The group's style is a mix of R&B and hip-hop.

Although originally not very popular at their debut, the group gained more popularity in 2008 after releasing hit singles such as L.O.V.E. and Abracadabra.

The leader of the Brown Eyed Girls, JEA, once said that she actually looked for the rest of the members of the group herself. She chose Miryo because she was already well-known as a talented rapper in the Korean hip-hop community. Jea chose Narsha because she had remembered Narsha as a talented singer from her high school. Ga-in was chosen by a composer named Ahn Jung Hoon, who asked her to audition for the Brown Eyed Girls.

On January of 2008, when Brown Eyed Girls released their first mini-album entitled "With Love" they had their first smash hit entitled "L.O.V.E." This single propelled them to much higher popularity in the Korean public.

Later in that same year in September of 2008, Brown Eyed Girls released a 2nd mini album entitled "My Style." The hit single from this album was "How Come," which topped various music charts in Korea.

The year 2009 saw the release of Brown Eyed Girls' 3rd full length album entitled "sound G." The album's title single was "Abracadabra."

In addition to group activities, Brown Eyed Girls member Narsha began promoting as a solo singer in 2010.
