Can this android fulfill all your needs? Depends on how sick they are we suppose, but read on to find out more!
As we mentioned in our previous article about the Winter Wonder Festival, the Japanese festival attracts fans of replica models of their favorite anime, manga, mecha, and Sci-Fi genres. On display are several artistic and finely detailed recreations of some of the most imaginative concepts Science Fiction has to offer.
One display however, maybe making science fiction, a reality. During the Winter Wonder Festival attendees were shocked to find out that what seemed like your average young female fan of anime, turned out to be a hyper realistic looking ANDROID!
The android on display is known as Asuna, who according to her creators at the robotics company A-Lab, Asuna is a 15 year old girl (Japanese creators, go figure) who was “born” in Tokyo, Japan, 61 inches tall and weighs 95 lbs.
Attendees at the event were heard to say not only how shockingly life like Asuna looked, but as well as how life like she felt. Reportedly her skin is made of materials so fine and detailed that it is soft to the touch and even gives off somewhat of a warm living like feeling. Every part of her seems to have been researched and created to incredibly minute details. Even her ears were allegedly life like due to their flexible and soft consistency.
We could spin our wheels all day on why someone felt the need to touch Asuna’s ear, and the ultimately off putting possibilities of “testing” the rest of her body functions, but we will leave that up to our reader’s minds. Instead we will leave you with some pics of the
horrifying, I mean not-the-least-bit-SkyNetty advances in robotics seen at the Winter Wonder Festival.
Below is a look at Asuna’s various realistic human expressions:
