AmpedAsia.com: Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Kim Astin: I am a model from Dallas, TX. I am mostly Vietnamese, but I’m mixed in with a little French from my mom’s side, and also probably a little bit from my dad’s side as well.
AmpedAsia.com: How did you get started modeling?
Kim Astin: Like any little girl would, I looked through magazines and I wanted to have that experience of modeling. You know, putting on makeup and dressing cute. From there I got asked to model for a friend’s company, and from there I decided to build a portfolio.
AmpedAsia.com: In the future, do you want to do anything else in the entertainment industry besides modeling?
Kim Astin: For now I’m really concentrating on modeling and putting together a strong portfolio. If any other things come along I would probably be willing to try it. If I had a chance to act or something like that, sure why not? I’d love to give it a try.
AmpedAsia.com: Are you single right now?
Kim Astin: It’s complicated… That’s my status on Facebook, haha just kidding. But yeah it’s complicated but its getting better.
AmpedAsia.com: IF you were single, what’s the best way for a guy to approach you?
Kim Astin: Hmmm, I honestly haven’t been approached that much. I haven’t been single that long. I’ve never left the club with a guy that approached me in the club. What’s really creepy is when I’m dancing with my girls and some guy starts just dancing behind me like a creeper. Or when a guy talks to me at the bar and says hey come join my VIP group over there.
I think I like it best when my friends and family set me up on a date. For example, when I just start hanging out with someone and then just start feeling attracted to someone.
AmpedAsia.com: What are your biggest turn-ons and turn-offs?
Kim Astin: The biggest turn-on would definitely be how he treats the women in his life. You can always tell how a man will treat you by how he treats his mom. That’s a rule I go by. The biggest turn-offs would be how he carries himself. It has a lot to do with the person’s attitude. So they kind of go together.
AmpedAsia.com: What about the physical traits that turn you on?
Kim Astin: Well, I don’t have a racial preference, I can probably date any kind of guy. I do want to date a guy that’s taller than me. I do like the soccer-player body. Also guys that I date usually aren’t that clean-cut. My sister always said I like to date dirty guys… haha.
AmpedAsia.com: How should a guy dress for success?
Kim Astin: I don’t think he should try very hard. Like don’t buy the most expensive clothes. Wear something casual, t-shirt, jeans, shorts. I’m pretty laid-back and chill.
AmpedAsia.com: Is there an ideal celebrity that you like?
Kim Astin: I think Johnny Depp is really hot. But I think that might be because of his weirdness!
AmpedAsia.com: What is your typical day like?
Kim Astin: I get up whenever I want, unless I have school then I have to wake up early. If a friend calls I’ll hang out. If I have to go to work, then I’ll go to work. I do waste a lot of time online.
AmpedAsia.com: Are you nerdy in any way?
Kim Astin: I don’t think I really do anything super nerdy. I like to read. I read some philosophy.
AmpedAsia.com: If you could have plastic surgery, where would it be?
Kim Astin: I have a big forehead so I don’t know if I would ever do that. I wanted to do a boob job at some point, but I don’t know about that anymore.
AmpedAsia.com: Do you have any passions?
Kim Astin: Yes I do! I’ve always been kind of a social activist. For my next project I’m trying to start a reform in my city to lower the amount of policemen on the police force and put it into education. My city has way too many policemen in my opinion, and the schools barely have any money. Band kids have to go fund-raise or else they can’t go on band trips. Teachers have to buy their own supplies. I also like to paint.
