Diana is one of the hotties from our September 2013 issue. We got a great set of photos from photographer Ray Lum and an interview with this lovely young lady.

What’s your ethnicity?

Vietnamese Canadian. I was born and raised in Canada.

What’s one cool thing you can do in Canada? 

You can go snowboarding in the winter time because we get a lot of snow sometimes in the winter… especially after a snowstorm.

So you’re a pretty good snowboarder? 

I’ve actually only gone snowboarding once and haven’t had a chance to go again since then during the holidays. I said snowboarding because that was what automatically came to mind as one cool thing to do. I think it’s a subconscious way of telling myself that I need to go snowboarding again sometime. I took a lesson while I was spending a weekend at a chalet and it was really fun!

Currently how old are you?

I am currently 23 years old and turning 24 in October.

What’s your job right now?

I’m just working a part-time job in retail now, selling cosmetics and beauty products at a booth in a mall.

Modeling is just a part-time job?

Yes, you can call it that. As of now I see my freelance modelling as more of a hobby than anything. Sometimes I attend paid gigs once in awhile though.

Cool, do you do go-go dancing or anything like that as well?

No, I have never tried go-go dancing before. It looks kind of fun though. I’ve only attended autoshows such as Import Fest a few times starting in 2011.

What’s something that not many people know about you?

Something that not many know about me is that I love snails. That’s right… I’m talking about the little, slow and slimy creatures with tiny, beady eyes located on two flexible eyestalks. They are absolutely my favourite small animal. I know a lot of people are grossed out by these little mollusks and think they are worthless creatures but I find them very adorable and quite fascinating. They are underrated animals that deserve more respect.

What’s one thing you want to do before you die?

I am an adventurous person who hasn’t travelled much so far in my life but I enjoy it whenever I do. Before I die, I would want to set foot on each of the seven continents in this world.. basically travel the world. There are way too many beautiful places in this world to be able to travel to all of them from this point on but I would love to visit all these different regions.

Do you have any goals with modeling or the entertainment biz?

My goal in modelling at the beginning was simply to start exploring different genres of modelling to discover what holds my interest the most and build and expand my portfolio overall. At this point I realize I really enjoy doing creative shoots whether it is beauty, glamour or very casual lifestyle. I want to get more into commercial print modelling, business wise, though and maybe sign with an agency.

Currently are you single or taken?

I am currently taken.

How did you meet your current boyfriend?

It had to be the ugliest way ever. We met each other at the entrance of a nightclub at the end of the night. He was handing out flyers and I thought he was a club promoter but it turned out he was only helping his friends who were promoters. It was pretty coincidental though because he told me he was not supposed to be at that club that night. He was instead supposed to be at another club for an event he planned on going to in the first place. That night was supposed to be the last night before I take a break from going out on Friday nights. I just happened to be waiting for some friends at the entrance for a long time and he just happened to be handing out flyers across from me. His friend was the one that greeted me first and introduced me to their mutual friends who were all handing out flyers.

What are three reasons you chose him over your other suitors?

I chose him over other suitors because there was something I felt was quite genuine about him that separated him from everyone else. Without even having to talk, I got this impression that he didn’t want to try hard to impress anyone and kept to himself. There’s something about someone who may be more quiet and reserved and doesn’t come on too strong that I like. The more time I spent with him the more I was attracted to him. He carried himself in a way that showed he had respect for me as a friend and that made me feel comfortable being around him. Besides the usual qualities that would attract someone to another person such as humour, charm, sensitivity and common interests, a third reason I chose him was because he gave me a different and refreshing perspective on certain aspects in life and he made me want to become a better individual. I felt like I was already up for a challenge, growing and learning a lot about myself simply through spending time with him when we just started out as friends.

What’s the most exciting part about being Diana?

The most exciting thing about being myself is that I am usually carefree and open-minded, love to go on adventures, to explore everything around me and experience new surroundings, love to get in touch with nature, and am not afraid of taking on new challenges in life. The world is a big place and I’ve only experienced a small part of it so far…

I’m always yearning for knowledge and eager to learn.

What is one dating tip you’d give to guys?

I know it might sound cliche and very general, but I believe you should act like yourself, whatever it is you are comfortable being while staying true to who you are. If the girl doesn’t like that then that’s too bad. You deserve to be with someone who actually appreciates who you are. If you’re not being true to yourself around someone of interest from the start then how would that make you truly happy and what makes you think a possible future relationship with that person would last? If you’re unhappy with yourself, you’re very unlikely to build and maintain a happy relationship with someone else.

What’s your most embarassing moment?

I’m sure I had many more embarrassing moments that I can’t recall at the moment but this one comes to mind. When I was a little kid, I was sitting on the edge of one of those huts at a wedding park, just leaning back and forth, and at one point I leaned a little too far back and fell backwards into a bush. It hurt a lot from what I remember, but my siblings thought it was funny and still poked fun at me afterwards.

Besides your boyfriend, who’s the sexiest man alive and why? 

Besides my boyfriend, I really don’t know who the sexiest man alive is because I don’t know every sexy man in this world. I don’t even have a male celebrity that I would name the “sexist man alive” because I simply don’t and it would be biased to the rest of the world outside of Hollywood. Naming someone “the sexiest man alive” or “the most beautiful woman in the world” is unfair to everyone. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but my answer still remains.

Okay fine, who’s one person you find sexy then.

Okay fine, Orlando Bloom.. because he seems down to earth, is a great actor and because of Lord of the Rings, my favourite movie trilogy of all time.

Name one girl that could turn you lesbian.

I’d probably go lesbian for my friend, Angela, if suddenly ‘turning’ lesbian was possible because she is beautiful, intelligent, fun to hang around with, goofy, adorable, and very unique. lololl cuz i cant really think of a celeb.. since i dont really iknow their personalities or if it’s just a ‘show’ for public i care about that stuff ._. and even with lesbo-ness, it’s about more than loooks.

Do you generally like Asian guys?

I’ve never had a racial preference when it comes to dating and attractiveness. I’m not attracted to someone based on race therefore I don’t prefer one race over the other.

Wow, you’re so unprejudiced.

It’s true though.. in my high school years.. lol like i could find all races attractive! Mddle school too! And when i thought about… whenever i start dating.. whether i would have a preference… and i just thought to myself, I really don’t have a racial preference.. I’m serious too. Like even some brown guys can be cute/attractive.. any race!

Lol. Even “some” brown guys.

LOL! Just like some Asians, some Whites.
