Mizuho Kazami is the new Japanese language teacher at a local High School, but she has a secret. Mizuho is actually an alien sent to Earth to observe humanity. Her problems begin when Kei Kusanagi, a student with a medical condition, discovers her identity. Mizuho then decides to marry Kei in order to keep her true identity secret. Along the way, Mizuho and Kei's relationship is met with many challenges and problems.

This is a great anime because it is well-paced and interesting throughout. Although there are several strains to the relationship between Mizuho Kazami and Kei Kusanagi, their problems are always given a good solution. You might think that having a shorter series might leave out some necessary character development, but that's not the case here, as both the main characters have great character depth, especially Mizuho.

Mizuho is shown as a very caring and gentle woman, and she truly cares for her husband despite the circumstances of their marriage. Kei is given a damsel-in-distress role, despite the fact that he isn't a damsel. Kei isn't healthy, in fact he was asleep for three years, which is the cause for his role as a weakling. Despite this, Kei still has other love interests besides Mizuho-sensei that play a large part in the tension between their relationships.

The animation in this anime is topnotch, as each character is well detailed, with a body that matches their personality. Mizuho Kazami is probably one of the most beautiful anime characters, and she's perfect in her role as the drop-dead-gorgeous teacher. Kei is shown to be somewhat of a wimp, and although his character isn't the most appealing, this portrayal is appropriate for his role in this anime. It is seen that Mizuho's beauty really outmatches the rest of the cast, and this was done purposefully so she wouldn't take a backseat to any of the other girls.

Onegai Teacher has a great soundtrack and great voice actors. The seiyuu (voice talent) for Mizuho-sensei has a very impressive list of anime work in her resume, including the voice of Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess. Really great talents and voices are at work in this anime, but the only voice I thought was somewhat annoying was Kei Kusanagi. He's a bit of a crybaby, but this was done on purpose for his character.

Overall you will probably find that Onegai Teacher is an anime worth watching. It has all the elements to a good anime; a pretty lead, good music, good voice talent, and amazing animation. Highly recommended for anyone.
